- Awards double-whammy sees Canon leading the way with imagePRESS digital presses
AMSTELVEEN, April 15, 2008 – Canon Europe, world leader in digital imaging technology, has today announced that its imagePRESS digital presses have won two awards for outstanding performance. The imagePRESS C7000VP, the flagship press of the range has won the “Masuda Award” from the Nikkan Industry Newspaper, and the recently launched imagePRESS C6000 was given the Best of Show Award in the Process Color Digital Printing Equipment category at the ON DEMAND Expo in Boston, USA.
The Masuda award is handed out to a product that has outstanding results, and is not usually given out every year. Part of the best 10 award, which was established in 1958, it was created to encourage new developments in technology and engineering. Other manufacturers who have received the Masuda Award, include Toyota, Hitachi and Fanuc.
Having been launched at the ON DEMAND Expo, the imagePRESS C6000 is an entry level production press that delivers high print quality, speed and versatility that has never been available at such an attractive price point. The Best of Show award is judged in association with leading market research and consulting firm, InfoTrends, with the judging panel consisting of professionals from the Graphic Arts and professional print community. Not only did the imagePRESS C6000 win at the show, but the imagePROGRAF iPF8000S, from Canon’s large format printing range also received an honourable mention.
